Subsidies in the Canary Islands
Several programmes can reduce the cost of your installation. We identify what applies to you and guide you through the entire process—from eligibility to application.
Next Generation EU (Gobierno de Canarias)
Up to 60% funding for photovoltaic and storage. Residential: 300–600 €/kWp for panels, 140–490 €/kWh for batteries. Application deadline typically mid-2025; check official convocatorias.
Consejo Insular de la Energía (Gran Canaria)
2025 programme: up to 4,000 € per home (3,000 € PV + 1,000 € storage), up to 20,000 € per community (15,000 € PV + 5,000 € storage). Applications until 31 Dec 2025. 2026 terms are usually published in spring on energiagrancanaria.com.
Municipal tax rebates (IBI / ICIO)
Depending on the municipality: IBI rebates up to 50% (e.g. Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna), ICIO up to 90% in some areas.
IRPF income tax deduction
20–60% deduction on energy-efficiency improvements, with an annual cap (e.g. 7,500 € for single-family homes, 5,000 € for buildings).
